Using Art Without Boundaries®

At first when we were trying to come up for solutions to avoid being accused of having a hidden franchise, we thought we might have to give up using the name Art Without Boundaries®.

Fortunately, that wasn't the case. The problem was mainly with calling ourselves "AWB Chapters", which traditionally are also non-profit entities. Much to our surprise, the attorney kept in the original use of trademark section :

Upon signing this document, the Member hereby accepts, and is granted the exclusive right, license and privilege to use the trademarks (also referred to as Marks): Art Without  Boundaries® and MnemeTherapy® which includes the process of MnemeTherapy® in the United States upon the terms and conditions set forth in this document.

You may put it on your cards, on documents, on your aprons and shirts because you have the exclusive right, license and privilege to use the Art Without Boundaries program.  You just DON'T put your old chapter name.  The new contract gives you 3 months to get your old chapter name off of business cards and printed material.

Read through the contract to make sure you are clear on the finer points of use. As a reminder the shortcut to make  ® alt0174 MnemeTherapy also gets an ® since we have applied and will soon be awarded registery.

Thanks to all faithful members who have hung in there with us through this difficult and confusing time. We can all take a deep breath and move forward confidently!
